What I'm Looking For

When you took me out,
on our first date of many,
there was a moment I knew,
that I'd set you apart from the rest.

It wasn't when you opened doors,
like a perfect gentleman,
or pulled out my chair,
as if I was a princess.

It wasn't when you let me order first,
then offered to pick up the check.
It wasn't even the simple fact
that you gave me your undivided attention.

It was when you noticed the goosebumps
on my arms, as we walked out of the building,
and threw your jacket around me,
as if to say everything would be okay.
