The World Around You

There's an entire world around you
but none of it matters
except what's in front of your face.
This is something I tell myself
so I can try to write poetry.
I don't worry or think about the future,
about how we're going to make it,
about if we're going to make it.
If I do then I slip and wander off,
as I feel myself doing now,
in to fears and concerns
that stop my poetry,
dead in its tracks.

Remember that no one person can be your muse, your all-encompassing inspiration. A person, a love, can help - but it really comes down to you and your heart, your life, your dreams. Your poetry will always be there - deep down, even if you feel you can't write it down all the time.

All you need is yourself and nothing else. I found it difficult and didn't even want to believe it. But all you truly need to live and be content is yourself. Just let the chips fall where they may and live as yourself. There really is no other way to live (in my opinion).
