my favorites are those of space,
of our planet like a blue scoop of ice cream
with patches of green like syrup
and sprinkles of white.
of assorted galaxies like jelly beans,
in red and blue and yellow,
with enormous suns we can't comprehend,
like a speckled jawbreaker to an eleven year old.
when i see one i think,
'wow, it's really big,'
and let all my worries wash away
before the monstrosity that is space.
