People often sit and wonder,
What will be left when they die.
Perhaps a mark on humanity,
Or just a dead body to lie.
The great people of the world,
Are those who leave their mark.
Like great Martin Luther King,
Who made one of light and dark.
So what will you do,
To leave your mark on this land?
When you are food for maggots,
Slowly becoming the sun and sand.
Maybe write a famous book,
Or revolutionary speech.
In an attempt to live on,
So future generations you can teach.
Your mark might be a person,
Or a special-made keepsake.
It could be a crater in Hiroshima,
Or a Bible that is fake.
Do you want to be remembered,
With a frown or a smile?
I suggest you ask this,
And re-evaluate your life's style.

Don't Fail To Fail
What a sad story, of the person who did nothing right,
They tried and tried, failing each time they put up a fight.
They never got any better, but never started to cry,
Because in the end they knew, it was better to try.
Certain people do not attempt, and thus fall short,
Before they ever start, before one can retort.
How will one find their passion, if they never lose,
How will one shine in life, if only their best they choose?
Often the things we are worst at, help us grow the most,
Because they broaden our lives, and for that we can boast.
If you want to be the best, then first know that you are not,
Excellence is achieved by chance, and it is never ever sought.
Lose at something every day, and get embarassed as well,
Because only then will you learn, only then will you excel.
Those who are boring, and cannot tell a pretty tale,
Are those who end up sad, and are those who fail to fail.
They tried and tried, failing each time they put up a fight.
They never got any better, but never started to cry,
Because in the end they knew, it was better to try.

Things You Can And Cannot Do
There are some things in life,
That people simply cannot do.
Although the reasons differ,
This rule applies to you too.
You cannot create a face,
That is without-a-doubt original.
You draw from people you've seen before,
Eyes and noses now vestigial.
You cannot create a new story,
Or tell a tale of unfound love.
The best you can do is share,
Perhaps steal if push comes to shove.
You cannot claim a person's Will,
And use it as your own.
You cannot fake the act of Love,
As the Romanticists have shown.
We can choose the length of life,
By who gets to die, and who to live.
This shameful power misabused,
Why did this power God give?
That people simply cannot do.
Although the reasons differ,
This rule applies to you too.
You cannot create a face,

Angry Poem!
**Yay onomatopoeia! Don't look too much in to this one, I just wrote it while listening to the band Disturbed.
GRRRR, I can't take it,
AAAAH, the pressure mounting.
Just SHUT UP, SHUT UP!
Can't you see I'm COUNTING?!
RAAAH, I'm counting,
How many IDIOTS I see.
AAAH, I let you be YOU,
So let ME BE ME!
OH MY GOD!, is that kid a dork,
He likes to learn and sh**.
But my mind will not be SHALLOW,
It will increase BIT BY BIT.
Don't KILL your brain,
By failing to EXERCISE!
I am the INTERLOPER,
Who of all your "rules" DEFIES!
This is where you call me CRAZY,
For using weird ass PHRASES.
But I LAUGH because I'm FREE,
While you are all in homemade CAGES!!!
---
Now that I've freaked everyone out I should state that this really isn't me in real life -_-
Some other poems are very much like how I am, but this is rather an angsty emotional poem I wrote while listening to music.
I do like its message though (^_^)/

To Take Away The Pain
She just wants to be loved,
At whatever cost it takes.
If the hurt of lonely could pass,
A better life she might make.
Identity lost in translation,
For her no words can describe.
She knows not who she is,
With heart of no love, soul of no vibe.
Who will care for her,
When she is sick and ill?
Unable to help herself,
Unable to swallow a pill.
Is there someone to love her,
Who can take away the ache?
Or will she be forever solitary,
Like moon on midnight lake?
Eyes full of tears she asks,
Why is it this anguish I cannot share?
The voice of Life, in quick reply:
Because my darling, Life is not fair.
I am your hope incognito,
But what a shame I am so shy,
For I could cure your hurt,
If I smiled and said "Hi".
**Smile at people more often. It's contagious for a reason.
At whatever cost it takes.
If the hurt of lonely could pass,
A better life she might make.

The Beauty Is Within Us
The people you see every day are fake,
Their bodies are shells that two people make.
The souls inside are the true women and men,
And all of their beauty is truly within.
The construct you see with jewelry and gloss,
Is just a doppleganger who is at a loss.
The real gift that a person can ever win,
Is the soul inside, the beauty within.
Your death will destroy your body,
It doesn't matter if your nice or naughty.
But your soul exists on another plane,
So learn to be yourself, and stop trying to feign.
Our shells imprison our beauty,
And carry out another duty.
Free your soul and shed your sin,
And remember all your beauty is truly within.
Their bodies are shells that two people make.

Just A Moment
If I could control the flow of time,
I'd go back to when I saw your face.
And I would do it over and over,
And such would be the human race.
No one would have lives,
Or destinations to go.
They would all be at my mercy,
While I stare at your heavenly glow.
We would never meet,
Or know each other's names.
Just the initial locking of eyes,
Over and over, same after same.
Would it be unfair of me,
To deprive people of their will?
Just so I could stare at you,
In a moment no one could kill?
I suppose I shall just be content,
For the moment your eyes lock on to me.
And never shall you fathom or dream,
That I wish this moment was eternity.
I'd go back to when I saw your face.
And I would do it over and over,
And such would be the human race.

Baby, Do You Love Me?
Baby, do you love me?
Do you care for me with your heart?
Baby, do you adore me?
Do you have plans for us to part?
Baby, please don't act so shy,
Just tell me the way things are.
Baby, please don't live a lie,
Then pack up and leave my heart ajar.
I'm afraid one day I will wake,
And find my Baby gone.
I'm afraid one day I will make,
My Baby leave before the dawn.
If I've done something bad,
Then I will repent a thousand times.
If I've gone and made you sad,
Then I will write you pretty rhymes.
Baby, do you love me?
Then will you say it sometimes please?
Baby, if you love me,
Then why am I crying on my knees?
Do you care for me with your heart?
Baby, do you adore me?
Do you have plans for us to part?
Baby, please don't act so shy,

Equations of Life
Equations of Life
What's the equation?
In order to fall in love?
Add what together?
This haiku is about the components that make up the act of falling in love. Obviously a person has to be ready to fall in love, and accept it when it possibly comes. Some people tell themselves they are going to wait until a certain time when they are ready to fall in love. They believe they have full control over when and where they fall in love. While some people can determine whether or not they will seek love, sometimes the time that love presents itself is unpredictable and surprising. Obviously there is no mathematical equation for love. There are no two factors you can "add together" to make love exist between two people. There are, however, a few central components which are vital to falling in love. They are:

There are no two factors you can "add together" to make love exist between two people. There are, however, a few central components which are vital to falling in love. They are:
- Wanting to be with the other person because of who they are, not because of who they used to be, or who they will become.
- Genuinely enjoying the other person's presence, and not simply telling yourself you do in order to maintain a relationship. You know if there is a deep connection or not.
- Understanding the certain sacrifices that you must give in order to be in love with this person.
- Understanding that these sacrifices are a small pittance to pay in order to be with this person. If you regret falling in love because it came in the way of something else, then it will affect the love you share with that person.
- Knowing the significance of saying "I Love You" to another person. Saying "I Love You" doesn't mean "I'll only have sex with you", or "I will take care of you and our children". It means "You are the sole entity on this planet that I wish to give myself to fully, without regret, but with the knowledge that you shall do the same, and our equivalent feelings of love for one another will match perfectly, even long after we die". (Or something like that, anyway).
- There are many more, but I have a Psychology test to study for. So this last one will just be the most important. Love yourself before you ever think about loving somebody else, and even after you love that other person, continue to love yourself more, or equally, to that person. It is not selfish to love yourself.
"Who should I love more?
My dear partner, or myself?
I love both, of course."
My dear partner, or myself?
I love both, of course."
Life Experience
Experience Haiku
Most young men worry,
But the older man does not,
He's become content.
This haiku is about the process of growing up. I say that most young men worry about their life, and what is next to come. They are constantly anticipating and planning. They have so much ahead of them, and they have to keep it all in order. Careers, spouses, children, and many other things are on the horizon for these people. The older man, however, does not worry about such things. He has become content with what his life possesses and has finally realized that his life is not about always struggling to acquire more or get better. It is about simply putting forth what he has to give in a situation, and accepting the outcome as a ratio of his best effort and his best reward. This process of slowly becoming content over time probably happens to varying degrees to all of us (by man I do not mean only males). It is in life experience that the older individual has the edge over the younger. While the younger has a potentially more potent brain, and more room for making neural connections, and a healthier body, the older person has wisdom and experience gathered throughout the years which can be applied to everyday life, and thus they do not worry what is next to come. They simply accept it as another part of their life.

Update Notice
What a day. No writing today because a.) I had to re-haul every single music file on my computer due to something stupid that happened (Hint: that's around 3,300 files) and b.) Blogger is screwing up.
You might notice two identical postings. That is because one was never actually registered in to the monthly database (for whatever reason) and so I had to post it again so it wouldn't be lost after the other two are knocked off the current postings list.
So much computer-related stuff is going wrong today.... I think I am just going to write on pen and paper all this week and avoid these faulty beasts as much as possible.

See What Happens When I Doubt Myself?
So I'm beginning to wonder if I know what is best for myself. I'm unsure of whether or not the path I am on is the correct one, and whether or not I am following that path righteously or fruitlessly. There are decisions I cannot make, and forces I cannot conquer, all in the sake of changing who I am and attempting to become "better". But what is "better"? How can I define what it would mean to be a better person? I suppose that is where I become lost. I do not know what direction I am facing, and the compass of my soul is spinning out of control. My heart can not tell me what it wants, and my mind is clouded by judgments and imaginations which cease to exist.
I ponder separate possibilities, and other varied outcomes. I ask myself if it would be worth it to go through with some of these changes I have thought about. I ask myself if I could even be able to go through with the changes. Having never been exposed to an element of life magnifies that element many times its natural proportion. To never have done things at this point in my life, then suddenly be expected to do them, is certainly taxing. Uncertainty is obviously the reigning theme tonight, although that theme can change day-by-day, or hour-by-hour. My whims are fickle like that, and perhaps unfortunately so.
Challenges face me that others see as commonplace and everyday things. To overcome them I need to indulge myself within them, and experience them until they become as natural as breathing. I must take the first step, and allow the avalanche to follow. If I can simply step through the door, I will be able to roam freely, but the door carries an invisible barrier which blocks me every time I walk up to it. This barrier is keeping me from what I perhaps might want the most, but then again, perhaps I am content with what I have now, on this side of the door. I do not know what exists on the other side, whether it be happiness or sorrow, joy or pain, and I do not know if it is worth attempting to find out. If I allow myself to be content with where I am now, it is easy to not kick down the door that is blocking me, and simply live my life the way I always have.
In the end perhaps I will simply accept things as they are now, and go on with the life I lead, without ever bothering to even peek through that door. Perhaps I am fooling myself by staying committed so heavily. Embracing the difference, and welcoming unknown variety, may be exactly the panacea I need to become cured. "If you never try, you never know". Then again, if you never try, you will never risk knowing. Perhaps knowing isn't always the best solution to a problem in life. Acceptance of the equilibrium your life possesses may be the smarter alternative in a case such as mine. Then again, who am I to know? Just one of billions, born in to a world where existence and meaning are eternally pondered over.
Shall I continue to contribute to that which makes me uneasy, or simply step through the invisible barrier, fully aware of the repercussions of my actions? Am I foolish to think of it this much, to try and analyze? Is it the fool who thinks too much and does not act, or the one who acts without ever thinking? Am I the fool? Perhaps I should stop thinking, and just live. Thinking can take away the hurt associated with living, and living can take away the anticipation of thinking about life. Both provide a solace with a gaping hole of insecurity. Neither can completely console a human, and attempting to balance them can drive a person insane. Sun-Tzu once said "Opportunities are gained as they are seized", but who is to say which opportunities are the right ones, and which ones lead to suffering? Humans were not meant to know. We are the epitome of powerful creatures who attempt to give meaning and permanence to their lives, and justify it with ignorant beliefs and ideals. The truth is that no one knows. That is the only absolute truth in the world. That there is no truth.

Religious Haiku
**I read somewhere that "Haikus" only deal with nature, and that anything else is actually some other Japanese name (sery-something). But since I'm stubborn and don't really care either way (I don't like them, remember?) I'm just going to keep calling them haikus.
Religious Haiku
Jesus saved us all,
And to Buddha people pray,
Allah is our God.
This haiku is about the diversity of religion. As I mentioned way, way back in the Religious Beliefs entry, people adamantly believe in certain religions. They think that their religion truly is the correct and true one, and that the others are all fake. I ask myself, "If God truly existed, why would he allow people to interpret him in such a way that would invoke violence?". If there was a God that artfully crafted the universe and our planet - as well as the entire cosmos - why would he allow us to do this? Some people say it isn't God's responsibility to watch over humans, and whatever destruction they cause. But I'm not going to get in to that debate (...yet).
People worship to their separate saviors, messiahs, and Gods, and all the while individuals like me sit back and are taken aback by the extent to which this people push their beliefs. In a perfect world, each of these followers and believers of different religions would have their own after-life, complete with whatever they went on believing throughout their life. And who is to say that isn't how it is? Maybe the atheists/agnostics will just rot in the ground, for not ever believing in anything. Maybe that fear is what drives people to devote themselves to a religion in the first place. Kind of a "Get out of rotting ground when you die" Free Card (joke from Monopoly).
At any rate, either everyone lives "happily ever after" in whatever fantasy they cooked up during their time on earth, or two scenarios occur. In one, there is one religion that is the "right" religion, and the others are all wrong. In the second, all religions are wrong, and none are right. Christianity teaches us that its ok to pick the "wrong" one because we will be saved in the end if we believe and lead a just life. But what kind of just life would consist of living a lie your entire life, believing in a separate religion, only to have everything you have ever known, and everything you have ever given your heart and soul to, be proven as fake?
I think that's enough religious ranting for now. And to think, all of that out of a stupid 5-7-5 haiku (errr...sery-something thing...sorry).

Stranger
We meet and we talk,
Because that's what people do.
But I will remember each word,
And every thing about you.
I won't forget who you are,
Or how you made me feel.
Even long after our contact,
My head will continue to reel.
Why do I give such meaning,
To a stranger who says "Hi".
Why do I give it such thought,
When it's just two people passing by?
Is there really a connection,
Some special sort of bond?
Or is it that my reality,
Simply has not dawned.
Imagine if I treat strangers so,
How I must treat those close to me.
Often those types invade my mind,
And I'm unable to hear, unable to see.
Because that's what people do.
But I will remember each word,
And every thing about you.

Hope Haiku
Hope
Hope, the spice of life,
Brings out flavor of despair,
Can I have some more?
This haiku says that hope is a spice of life that brings out the flavor of despair. When you think about it, often times hope is a mechanism through which people believe that their dreams can come true. They can envision in an instant everything they've ever wished for coming true, and it is all because of hope. Yet if a person hopes enough, eventually it may catch up to them. After putting everything in to that one hope and having it fail, they are left saddened, and their dreams are shattered. Even so, after they get over their lost hope, they will throw their hope in to something else. Or perhaps the last line can be seen as humans making the same errors and mistakes. We hope for freedom in the world, and through that hope we go to war with people who oppose us. Thousands of innocent people die, and we later lament our decision and are filled with despair. But eventually, over time, we will long for that taste of hope once more, thus continuing the cycle.
Hope, the spice of life,
Brings out flavor of despair,
Can I have some more?

The Letter
**Try and read this with natural rhythm and flow.
If you knew a lonely person, would you call them on the phone?
Or would you write a letter, saying "I'm sorry your so alone."
And would you think that letter, would have love within its words,
Or do you think it would be pity, like harmless ball-point swords?
Would you put "Sincerely," on the bottom, or "With Love, from your friend",
Would you idle by your mailbox, pondering whether or not to send?
Would you have butterflies in your stomach, afraid of what they will think,
Afraid they may think you're crazy, and afraid you are on the brink.
What if one week passes, and you receive a letter in the mail,
From the lonely friend you wrote to, and whose contents thus entail:
"I'm sorry that it has come to this, I always thought you my best friend,
I've been travelling through this maze of my life, each turn brings another dead end".
Two weeks later your old letter returns, marked as "Unable to Send",
You look at it quite confused, then pick up the phone to call your friend.
There's no answer on the other phone, and your heart begins to dive,
If your letter had been a few days before, your friend might still be alive.
**Yea, another death poem. And suicide, too, no less. I'm really not sick and twisted, I promise. This one just sort of created itself as I went along - I didn't know how it was going to end.

The Game
I have been a great leader,
Fearless in Death's face.
Leading a group to a common goal,
With utmost precision and haste.
I have slain giant foes,
Who tower to the heavens.
With swords and magic,
The ground greatly reddened.
I have seen wide green fields,
And pristine blue skies.
I once found my true love,
And then watched it die.
I have had the greatest allies,
Who could carry me to fame.
It's just a shame, it's just too bad,
Too bad it was just a game.
Fearless in Death's face.
Leading a group to a common goal,
With utmost precision and haste.
I have slain giant foes,
Who tower to the heavens.
With swords and magic,
The ground greatly reddened.

3,001 Steps
I took 3,001 steps today,
And with each one I thought of you,
The weight of my feet seemed to grow,
I was happy when the day was through.
But when I go to sleep,
I am still fully aware,
That when I awake from dreams,
You will still be there.
At one thousand steps,
I remembered your smile,
It brought sorrow to my heart,
That I had not known in a while.
At two thousand steps,
I remembered your tears,
And how I would comfort you,
And relieve you of your fears.
At three thousand steps,
My day had come to an end,
You were still within my heart,
For forgotten love is forbidden sin.
The final step I knew was you,
Letting me know you love me forever,
But you are gone now,
And we are no longer together.
I took that final step,
Just before I went to bed,
A constant reminder you love me,
Even though you are dead.
And with each one I thought of you,
The weight of my feet seemed to grow,
I was happy when the day was through.
But when I go to sleep,
I am still fully aware,
That when I awake from dreams,
You will still be there.

Déjà Vu
The newborn infant is smiling, emanating joy in the room,
Like baby trees sprouting, underneath their mother who looms.
A girl is consoled by her best friend, and her tears he did wipe,
Like the sun dries the water, from a storm the previous night.
Two lovers kiss under a moonlit night, on an old wooden pier,
Like the stars that help to magnify their glow, each a heavenly tear.
A joyous day at the park, where a mother watches her children play,
Like the trees and the grass, who watch over the leaves all day.
One lonely sentinel in a cabin, learning the mysteries of life unfound,
Like a tree in a metropolis, the workers dare not raze to the ground.
An old man dying on his deathbed, with but a few weeks to live,
Like a withered plant you still water, for love to all things you give.
Finding the essence of nature, in the doings of human beings,
Is like trying to solve a riddle, without feeling, hearing, or seeing.

Imagination
My imagination haunts me,
Presenting fantasies that don't exist.
It fulfills my deepest desires,
Dark secrets I dare not list.
Jumping from one thought,
Instantly in to the next.
With no pause or breaks,
My overwhelmed mind is flexed.
Love, hate, love, death, and love,
Are all conjured so quickly and clear.
They are amounting too fast,
And my reason I can not hear.
Normal people I meet,
Become true love or enemies.
I cannot distinguish, I cannot think,
Blinded by my fantasies.
**This poem has a ton of meaning regarding me within its lines. If you're confused about any of it I urge you to ask in a comment so I can clear up any confusion, as I realize it may be a hard poem to interpret compared to some others. I promote the understanding of this poem moreso than others because it truly does have much more meaning than almost anything I've written up to this point (except maybe Butterflies and Hero).
